Strikingly unconventional, yet classic and tailored, founder Kelly Aguilar first ventured into event
planning while working for night club promoters in the late 80's. She quickly learned she had a keen
eye for details and a passion for planning. In the early 90's, Kelly traveled to England and landed a
job planning international tours for a major record label - what was supposed to be a six month
vacation, became a six year adventure!

Once Kelly returned to the states in the late 90's, she spent the next six years working as the
in-house meeting and event planner for two Fortune 500 companies. While the work was fulfilling,
Kelly's entrepreneurial spirit was busy making other plans. Needless to say, Social Butterfly Events
was born in late 2005.

In the time since Social Butterfly Events' inception, Kelly has achieved the designation of Profesi-
sional Bridal Consultant through the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), was the Founding Vice
President of Membership for the Orange County Chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES), is currently serving as
Co-Director on the Steering Committee for the ABC Orange County Region, and has been a guest speaker for Orange Coast College's
Event Planning Certificate program. Adding to these great successes, Kelly has had the tremendous pleasure of learning from and
working alongside some of Southern California's premier wedding and event planners.
